I know everyone has been asking for dogs and other pets but maybe start with something like a Hamster.

This would be a good way to introduce pets and know what people want out of them. The hamster could come in a cage and from there you can view the cage with buttons saying ‘feed’ or ‘play’. This keeps it simple for the player and means everyone can understand.

For more complex interactions (harder to code?) you could have things like letting out in a hamster ball in a designated room. This like this would mean it is ready for adding more free roaming animals, like dogs.
