Maybe you could do a "throwback" update of sorts and add a bunch of popular items and materials to the game that are from the 80s to 00s as those eras are making a comeback online. For example, for the 2000s you could take the Y2K aesthetic and add animal print materials and maybe more vinyls that reference popular albums from that era. Just an idea :)
