Implement Dynamic Weather, Temperature, and HVAC System for Enhanced Realism
Feature Suggestion: Dynamic Weather, Temperature & HVAC System
Hello Bloxburg Team,
First, thank you for creating such an amazing game. I think Bloxburg could become even more immersive by adding a dynamic weather, temperature, and HVAC system that makes homes feel truly alive.
Dynamic Outdoor Temperature
Instead of weather being mostly visual, the game could have realistic outdoor temperatures that change throughout the day and throughout the year.
- Summer afternoons could reach 85–100°F.
- Winter nights could drop below freezing.
- Spring and fall would have milder temperatures.
- Heat waves and cold snaps could occasionally occur.
Indoor Temperature
Every room in a house could have its own temperature based on:
- Outdoor weather
- Insulation quality
- Number and type of windows
- Sunlight exposure
- Whether doors or windows are left open
- Whether an HVAC system is installed and running
Without air conditioning, homes would gradually become hotter during the summer. Without heating, homes would become colder during the winter.
Functional Windows
Windows could become interactive instead of just decorative.
- Opening windows could let fresh air into the house.
- On cool days, open windows could naturally cool a room and reduce the need for air conditioning.
- On hot days, open windows could make the house warmer.
- During the winter, leaving windows open would quickly let heat escape.
- Rain could blow in through open windows, encouraging players to close them during storms.
Functional HVAC Systems
HVAC equipment would become fully interactive.
Players could:
- Install central air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, mini-splits, and thermostats.
- Place vents and ductwork to distribute air throughout the house.
- Set thermostat temperatures.
- Pay higher electricity bills when heating or cooling the home.
- Upgrade to more energy-efficient HVAC systems.
Player Comfort
Weather and indoor temperatures could affect the player’s comfort.
- If it’s very hot, the player could become uncomfortable and thirst could increase faster.
- If it’s very cold, the player could need warmer clothing or a heated home.
- Staying at a comfortable temperature would improve the player’s mood.
Energy Efficiency
Construction choices could matter more by adding:
- Different insulation levels.
- Energy-efficient windows.
- Better roofing materials.
- Smart thermostats that automatically reduce energy use.
These features would make building houses much more meaningful because players would design homes that are not only beautiful but also comfortable and energy efficient. HVAC equipment, windows, insulation, and weather would all work together to create a more realistic and immersive experience.
