Add Back Assassination Animations for Stealth Kills
Hello Splitgate team,
I would like to suggest the addition of back assassination animations, similar to those seen in Halo 4 and Halo: Reach.
These executions would trigger when a player approaches an unaware enemy from behind at close range, initiating a short animation that guarantees a kill. This could add a layer of risk-reward gameplay: players expose themselves briefly during the animation, but are rewarded for positioning and awareness.
I believe this feature could enhance player satisfaction by:
Rewarding stealth and positioning rather than pure reaction speed
Adding cinematic, memorable moments during matches
Increasing skill expression without significantly altering core mechanics
To keep balance, the system could include:
A short lock-in animation that leaves the attacker vulnerable
Clear audio/visual cues so nearby players can react
Optional toggles or limited availability in certain modes
Splitgate’s portal mechanics could make these executions especially dynamic, allowing for creative setups and unexpected engagements.
