Free-standing Logistics Cranes

Cranes already exist on buildings. My suggestion would be to allow cranes to be added as free-standing elements within the logistics system. This would be a 1x1 building that pulls modules from a conveyor belt and forwards them at its output. Essentially, it works just like a building, except the modules are transferred directly onto a conveyor belt.

  • Modules can be retrieved from a conveyor belt over a short distance (the same range as factories, which can be improved through research).

  • Useful for retrieving a specific quantity from a conveyor belt. The crane has a maximum speed. This would allow for better control of the production flow.

  • Does not replace the existing splitter, which has virtually unlimited throughput.
