Holographic Team Map Gadget for Enhanced Communication and Navigation
My idea is a map gadget that can boost teamwork, communication and prevent getting lost. The attachment is my ideas written down when I first thought of the idea, saying what I said here in less detail as well as having an illustration of what the gadget could look like. I don't know how difficult it would be or if it matches the style of the game so I am very open to alterations.
I thought that it would be cool if you could buy a map as a gadget that allows players to:
- Ping a position while not being in sight of it
- Change the 'status' of a room like being secured, dangerous, be wary, etc
- Make it easier to navigate a map
I have been in and seen many situations where time is wasted because I couldn't find the stairs to the next floor (sometimes losing the round because of it), and always wanted a more prominent way of communicating without having to remind constantly or be in risk of death to ping.
It would be a holographic map available for both teams that can be turned on and off with trigger, looking a bit like a small door blocker when turned off (both items). The map would either be blue or yellow depending on your team with white or a different shade of blue or yellow showing the room outlines as well as a way of changing the floor viewed (could be limited to the floor that the player is on).
To ping, you could hold the ping button while pointing at the map and a mini cursor would pop up to indicate where you will ping.
You could change the status of a room by pressing on the room with your finger or clicking trigger when the cursor is on the room wanted and its status could be cycled through (green/blue is secure, red is dangerous, orange/yellow is be wary, normal map colour is neutral/no status) and displayed on the map with dashed lines of that colour.
To display to other players:
- Maps could be linked so changing the status of a room on one map changes the status on all of the team's maps
- To display in person and to those without, an LED trim (possibly with a moving lighter shade to draw attention) could be on the edges of rooms and in door frames (the edge of a door frame/floor to clearly show which room it describes)
- The ping would act as normal (only one, on a surface) but possibly have a different shape like a circle rather than tear drop when placed using the map. Using the map, it would place on the floor where it was set
Thank you for your consideration and I am sorry if I was unclear, had unreadable handwriting, waffled, or have suggested something that was already denied (I looked to see if there were any similar ideas but I hadn't seen any).
