Steps to Reproduce

1. Set the custom permissions to not allow access to display items
2. Give someone the custom permission
3. Place food in a display case or place log trays in the display case and then place the food on top of them
4. Ask the other player to try taking the food

Explanation

Players can take food from display cases even though they do not have permission to access display items. I don't know if it's because the food is placed on log trays or whatnot. But I was under the assumption that display items extended to DISPLAY cases.

I did permit them to take food portions, because otherwise, how would they eat the food served to them? It's a bakery! But that shouldn't mean they can just take the food from display cases!
