Actual Result:
Killer doesn't see any Survivor's Auras when they theoretically should.
|
Expected Result:
Killer should see the Auras of Survivors who are seeing theirs.

Severity:
Major

Reproducibility:
Always

Platform:
Steam

Additional Notes & Comments:
Deerstalker, as written, should be a VERY strong Perk. As it is right now, it doesn't activate in so many situations in which it sounds like it should that it is almost useless.

Steps to Reproduce
- Start a custom game.
- Have at least 2 Survivors.
- Non-Stealth Killer equips Deerstalker Perk.
- Survivors all equip Buckle Up, Kindred, and Still Sight.
- In match hook a Survivor.
- All survivors will see the Killer's Aura when near the hook.
- In a match knock a Survivor and have another heal them.
- The healer and dying-state Survivor will see the Killer's Aura when in range.
Explanation
Deerstalker Fails to Trigger For Some Aura Reads.
The Perk "Deerstalker" states:
"While a Survivor sees your Aura, you see their Aura."
In a lot of circumstances this is true, in a select few it is not. Specifically for Buckle Up, Kindred, and Still Sight.
ESP makes sense that the Killer doesn't get the counter Aura read because this Perk explicitly states the user gains Elusive. Buckle Up, Kindred, and Still Sight however have no such call out.
I tested in a custom game and the following Perks did allow the Killer to see the Survivor's Auras when using Deerstalker:
- Alert
- Breakdown
- Dark Sense
- Object of Obsession
- Scene Partner
I tested in a custom game and the following Perks failed to give the counter Aura read:
- Buckle Up
- Kindred
- Still Sight
There are other Perks I haven't tested against yet, which I would expect to also trigger Deerstalker, including:
- Babysitter
- Eyes of Belmont
- Fogwise
- Hardened
- Inner Focus
- Invocation: Treacherous Crows
- Poised
- Quick Gambit
- Rapid Response
- Streetwise
- Strength in Shadows
- Teamwork: Throw Down
- Troubleshooter
- We See You
- Wicked
- Wiretap
Unless a Perk states it gives Elusive (like ESP) I would expect Deerstalker to activate and reveal Auras in all situations that a Survivor Perk reveals the Killer's. If there are intentional exceptions, those need to be called out and explained for the Perk.
