Thunderhead rounds visually explode on gas clouds with inconsistent damage

Steps to Reproduce

1. Separate player has 1 or 2 copies of the upgrade 'Spore Release'
2. Get thunderhead in either the same stage or a later one
3. Fire at gas clouds spawned from killed enemies

Explanation

didn't quite catch it in the screenshot but my thunderhead rounds were exploding on gas clouds (I had penetration so I'm unsure whether it was purely visual, but there were sometimes damage numbers when nothing was there). it was also happening when I didn't have penetration, so maybe it was really exploding
